Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is one of the most beautiful and diverse areas of New York. From restaurants to music venues, there are countless places to experience. Some of the most impressive attractions, however, are the museums. 420 Kent’s Williamsburg rentals are near some of the most unique and intriguing museum attractions in the area. Here are our top three recommendations.
The City Reliquary
This not-for-profit museum has been welcoming visitors since 2002 and has been in its current location since 2006. The museum and civic organization prides itself on educating people on New York’s past and present through both permanent and rotating exhibits. The City Reliquary also hosts events throughout the year, such as block parties, film screenings, Collector’s Night, and the Havemeyer Sugar Sweets Festival. They are open Thursday through Sunday, and general admission is $7. The museum is located on Metropolitan Avenue, just a short distance from our Brooklyn luxury apartments.
Museum of Food and Drink
The Museum of Food and Drink, also known as MOFAD, is an interactive way for visitors to get in touch with food. The MOFAD Lab in Williamsburg opened in 2015 and hosts rotating exhibits about various culinary cultures. Exhibitions are held on the weekends and often include a lesson about the evolution of a certain cuisine, followed by a tasting. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, but only online purchases guarantee entry. MOFAD prides itself on allowing visitors to explore and play with food, making for a truly inspiring experience.
BLDG 92
BLDG 92 gives you an inside look at Brooklyn’s Navy Yard. It was originally build in 1858 to serve as the Marine Commandant’s residence. Today, it houses the Yard’s visitor center, along with handling employment and exhibitions. They offer multiple tours, such as “Brooklyn Navy Yard: Past, Present, and Future” and “Whiskey Wars Tour and Tasting.” You can also browse the three exhibition floors or grab a drink at the Brooklyn Roasting Company café. BLDG 92 offers a unique and breathtaking view into New York’s past.
