Many of the events that used to be held in McCarren Park, such as the Open Space Alliance concerts, are now held in the East River State Park. Ticketmaster also has a partnership with the park that allows them to hold several of their events there.
The park has a large lawn area and about a dozen picnic tables for those looking for a nice place to relax with family or friends and enjoy the beautiful water views all around. There is also a small beach area to hang out and enjoy the tranquility of the park.
The park features breathtaking views of the iconic Manhattan skyline and the East River along the waterfront, and an unobstructed view of the Williamsburg Bridge. If you happen to visit during sunset, it’s even more magical.
