The Top Parks and Views in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

When it comes to parks and views, those living in the Williamsburg rentals at 420 Kent have convenient access to scenic, amenity-loaded green space that is often hard to find in other NYC neighborhoods.

McCarren Park

McCarren Park sits at the boundary of Williamsburg and Greenpoint and is a popular destination for events, swimming, community events, sport activities or simple relaxation.

The park is substantial in size with 35 acres of greenery. It regularly plays host to various sports events for spectators and participants living in nearby Williamsburg rentals or visiting from other boroughs including kickball tournaments, softball games, soccer, and more.

For many years, McCarren Park has also hosted The Renegade Craft Fair – a DIY local community craft event and SummerScreen in McCarren – Brooklyn’s longest running film and music series, among other annual events.

The McCarren Pool within the park is a relatively new urban oasis and the ideal place to cool off a bit during the warm summer days (and even on cooler days as it is heated).

Constructed in the 1930s it was eventually closed in the 1980s and then reopened in 2012 with brand new facilities including day beds, sun loungers, Wi-Fi, food service and bar.

It is a giant pool with a 6800-swimmer capacity and 37,500 square foot swim area. The pool has become a social hub, but high demand sometimes results in wait times.

Regardless, any who lives in a nearby Williamsburg luxury rental will find the amenities and plethora of events and activities at McCarren Park to be a convenient option for some weekend or weeknight fun.

East River State Park

A smaller park stretches for 11 acres along the East River near 8th and 9th streets. The East River State Park is another top urban oasis in Williamsburg for people looking for an open area to relax during the day or sightseeing. It has a fair amount of greenery and trees along with several paths.

The East River State Park is another popular spot for social and cultural events. Many of the events that used to be held in McCarren Park, such as the Open Space Alliance concerts, are now held in the East River State Park. Ticketmaster also has a partnership with the park that allows them to hold several of their events there.

The park has a large lawn area and about a dozen picnic tables for those looking for a nice place to relax with family or friends and enjoy the beautiful water views all around. There is also a small beach area to hang out and enjoy the tranquility of the park.

The park features breathtaking views of the iconic Manhattan skyline and the East River along the waterfront, and an unobstructed view of the Williamsburg Bridge. If you happen to visit during sunset, it’s even more magical.

Both parks are within a short distance from the brand-new Williamsburg rentals at 420 Kent, just a little over 1 mile away.

Although there are options for several smaller parks near 420 Kent, these two are always worth a visit for the excellent amenities and space the provide. To learn more about apartment availability contact 420KENT@CITIHABITATS.COM.
